Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 12-C fluted tube pan. In large bowl, blend first four ingredients until moistened. Beat 2 min. at highest speed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 35-45 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. In small saucepan, heat sugar and syrup until mixture boils and sugar is melted. Pour around edges of hot cake. Cool upright in pan 15 min.; turn onto serving plate. Serve warm or cool.
