
Meringue
Ingredients
- for 8" Pie for 9 or 10" Pie
- 1/4 tsp 1/4 salt
- 1/4 tsp 1/2 vanilla
- 2 3 egg whites
- 4 T 6 sugar
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
Instructions

Add salt and extract to egg whites; beat to stiff foam. Add sugar, a T at a time, and continue beating until mixture forms heavy lustrous peaks. Spread over filling, fixing to edge of pastry; bake in 350° oven, 12 to 15 minutes.
