French Apple Pie Cookie Bars
- 5 C peeled sliced tart apples
- 3/4 C sugar
- 2 T flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 T butter or marg. - dot
- Completely foolproof pie crust
Mix all ingredients except 1 T butter or marg.
Roll out 1/2 of dough - place in 10-15" cookie pan.
Spread apple mixture on crust.
Dot with butter. Roll out the other 1/2 of dough.
Place on top of apples.
Bake at 375° about 35 min. till golden brown.
Spread or drizzle glaze over top. (1 C powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp butter and milk to desired consistency)
