French Apple Pie Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • 5 C peeled sliced tart apples
  • 3/4 C sugar
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 T butter or marg. - dot
  • Completely foolproof pie crust

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients except 1 T butter or marg.
  2. Roll out 1/2 of dough - place in 10-15" cookie pan.
  3. Spread apple mixture on crust.
  4. Dot with butter. Roll out the other 1/2 of dough.
  5. Place on top of apples.
  6. Bake at 375° about 35 min. till golden brown.
  7. Cool.
  8. Spread or drizzle glaze over top. (1 C powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp butter and milk to desired consistency)
