
Date Nut Bread
Ingredients
- 2 3/4 C flour
- 1 C sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 T salad oil (or 2margarine melted)
- 1 eg beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 C coarsely chopped nuts
- 8 oz cut-up dates 1 C
Instructions

In small bowl, combine dates with 1 1/2 C boiling water; let cool. Grease and flour 1 or 2 loaf pans. Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl; beat on medium speed 1/2 minute, scraping constantly.

Pour into pan(s). Bake at 350° for 55-65 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean.
