Completely Foolproof Pie Crust


  • 4 C flour
  • 1 T sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 C shortening
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1/2 C water


  1. With pastry blender or fork, mix together flour, shortening, sugar, and salt. In separate dish, beat together the vinegar, egg and water. Combine two mixtures, stirring with fork until all ingredients are moistened. Mold dough into a ball with your hands. Chill at least 15 min. before trying to roll out dough. Dough keeps in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be frozen until you are ready for it.
