
Chocolate Cherry Cake
Ingredients
- 1 pkg Pillsbury Plus Devil's Food Cake Mix
- 3 eggs
- 21 pz can prepared cherry pie filling
- 1 tsp almond extract
- Glaze:
- 1/2 C semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 T butter or margarine
- 2 T milk
- 1/2 C powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 12-C fluted tube pan. In large bowl, blend first 4 ingredients until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 40-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool upright in pan 23 minutes; turn onto serving plate. Cool completely. In small saucepan, over low heat, blend first three Glaze ingredients, stirring constantly, until chocolate pieces melt. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar until smooth. Add additional milk if necessary for glaze consistency. Spoon over cooled cake.
