Caramel Swirl Crown Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/4 C water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 C caramel ice cream topping
  • 12 C chopped nuts
  • 3 T flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° (325° for colored fluted tube pan).
  2. Grease and flour 12-C fluted tube pan.
  3. In large bowl, combine cake mix, water, eggs and vanilla.
  4. Blend until moistened; beat 2 minutes on highest speed.
  5. Measure 1 C batter into small mixing bowl.
  6. To this, add ice ream topping, nuts and flour; mix well.
  7. Pour yellow batter into prepared pan; pour caramel mixture over batter in pan.
  8. Swirl slightly.
  9. Bake 45 - 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool upright in pan 45 min; turn onto serving plate.
  11. Cool completely.
  12. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle cake slices with caramel ice cream topping.
