Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 C milk
  • 1/2 C margarine
  • 3/4 - 1 C sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 5 T flour
  • 1/2 C Crisco

Instructions

  1. Combine milk and flour. Cook until thick. Cool. Strain. In a separate bowl mix marg., Crisco, sugar, vanilla. Beat at high speed until fluffy. Add milk sauce and continue beating until very light.
  2. *variations: Make it with brown sugar and maple flavoring or chocolate or with cherry juice and pink coloring.
