Bran Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 C Bran Buds
  • 2 C boiling water
  • 3 C sugar
  • 1 C butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp sal5t
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 5 C flour
  • 1 qt buttermilk
  • 1 C dry Bran Buds
  • 1 C dry All Bran

Instructions

  1. Mix well; set aside: 2 C Bran Buds 2 C boiling water
  2. Mix in a very large bowl: 3 C sugar 1 C butter 4 eggs 5 tsp soda 1 tsp sal5t 2 tsp vanilla 5 C flour 1 qt buttermilk 1 C dry Bran Buds 1 C dry All Bran
  3. Cream the sugar and butter. Add eggs, vanilla, salt and soda. Mix well. Add 1 C flour at a time. Then add buttermilk slowly. Last, add the wet bran. Then add 1 C dry Bran Buds, 1 C All Bran. Put in refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours. This will keep 6 to 8 weeks. Remember, don't stir down when filling muffin cups.
  4. You can add nuts, raisins, blueberries, or anything else you wish by putting them in the bottom of the muffin cups. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Recipe fills 1 gallon jar.
