Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 8 lbs stewing beef marinate in wine overnight
  • 1 #10 can tomatoes
  • 1 lg Bermuda onion
  • 3 cans whole small onions
  • 1/2 #10 can green beans
  • 1 lb carrots
  • 1/2 C dry sherry
  • 1 T salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 T garlic salt
  • Tenderizer
  • Kitchen Bouquet
  • 1/8 tsp oregano
  • 1 T Accent

Instructions

  1. Sauté onion (sliced) in hot oil.
  2. Sauté beef; add Kitchen Bouquet for color.
  3. Simmer for 1 hour, add tomatoes drained & cut up.
  4. Reserve liquid for gravy.
  5. Add seasonings & simmer for 1 hr.
  6. Thicken with flour paste made with tomato juice.
  7. Add potatoes, carrots, simmer till tender, add beans & canned onions & simmer till heated through.
