Bean Soup

Course Soup

Ingredients

  • 7 lb beans
  • 3 T garlic powder
  • 1 T pepper
  • 4 T salt
  • 2-3 Carrots
  • 2 T MSG
  • 2 T ham base
  • 4 C dry potatoes
  • 1 lg onion chopped
  • 3 lb pork hocks

Instructions

  1. Take ham hocks out of freezer the night before. Soak beans overnight (after sorting) in keetle full of water.
  2. Next morning, wash ham hocks. Put fresh water in beans; put onion, ham, spices in. Cook about 2 hours.
  3. Then put hot water in a container. Put 2 C dry potatoes in water, mix well; put in soup. Then do 2 more C dry potatoes. Put in soup.
  4. Simmer 10-15 min. Put in sink in ice water and freeze
