- 1 lb navy or Northern beans soaked overnight and drained
- 1 hambone
- Onion chopped
- 1/2 - 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 C brown sugar
- 1 1/2 T molasses
- 1 1/2 T catsup
Cover beans and ham with water (about 1 1/2 qts).
Bring to boil; then simmer 30 min.
Put in over, covered (300°) for 3 hours (at least); making sure beans are covered with water and don't dry out.
