Alice's Carmel Corn

Ingredients

  • 1 C butter
  • 2 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C dark corn syrup
  • 6 Qts popped corn
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Peanuts

Instructions

  1. Melt butter; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in soda and vanilla.
  2. Pour over popped corn; mix well.
  3. Turn into 2 large shallow pans. Bake in 250° oven for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven - cool.
